Usually the comment is that your eye can pick up more the camera, not in this case. With McGarva & Frazerrobbo we were treated to a show of the Aurora Borealis which was very impressive and magical with swirling wisps of green across the sky coming and going to lots of 'oohs and ahs'. But not nearly as impressive as this photo suggests. The long exposure time seems to heighten the colours. This was apparently a low level of activity which seemed to photograph with more dramatic effect than when I saw it in Senja Norway last year which was more of a moderate level and much more visible to the eye.
Whatever....is was a brilliant close encounter and an evening I won't forget, shared with good friends.
