The Armed Forces Memorial.

The centrepiece of the memorial is two bronze sculpture, the embodiment of loss and sacrifice.
Almost 1600 names of those who have been killed in recent times are recorded.

I was told by a guide that this one shows: -
A man being carried high (like in Greek mythology) by his unit and his mother and father are on the right with his wife and child on the left, showing he gave the ultimate sacrifice.

When I view this image I can vividly recall my time in Vietnam and those times I assisted with med-evacuations of our wounded and KIAs.
A nice tribute to those who paid the ultimate price for freedom...
