Nothing so pretty than the herring boats out on the bay with the Coastal Range mountains as a backdrop.
The annual herring roe fishery opened today and the first big spawn was in the bay. Wonderful to see the eagles and gulls swarming the boats as they pulled in their catch. Only stayed an hour it was freezing but the oceanfront was packed with cars and sightseers for this once a year spectacular that lasts but a few days.
