Stable roof

Bolsover Castle stable block roof (I just liked the roof, what do think Mr Morton?).

There’s a fairytale quality to Bolsover Castle that makes it a firm favourite with anyone looking for a great value day out in the East Midlands. Highlights include the sumptuously painted walls and ceilings of the Little Castle, intricately carved fireplaces and the magnificent indoor Riding School.

that is one fantastic roof...worth going there just to see this. Looks early C18th and those bosses suggest more than just for storing hay to fork down to the horses below..no sign of floor/ceiling marks on tie beams...hmmm

Stunning construction... -- nicely photographed, too...! I wonder how many pegs they used to join it all together...?
