What a surprise these waves were. They were bigger than they appear in the photo, and huge for Virginia Beach, VA. To give you some perspective, if you look closely, less than quarter way from the left edge, you will see a surfer dwarfed by the wave (...well, at least you can see his board; he's clad, head to toe, in a black neoprene wetsuit, which blends with the wave).
