Rose Dawn - Greenwich Village & Lower Manhattan Skyline

LaGuardia Place - Greenwich Village NYC

High rise buildings surround the Greenwich Village/SOHO area and are infiltrating into this world renown landmark district. The Trump Tower Condominium/Hotel on this right hand horizon is the first building that has grossly violated high rise zoning laws in the south Village. NYU has consistently violated high rise zoning laws in the heart of Greenwich Village since they moved their main campus from Washington Heights in the Bronx to Washington Square. Currently, a NYU2031 Plan calls for the construction of more high rise buildings at Washington Square in the the heart of historic Greenwich Village. If such plans continue to be approved by the NYC/NY State government these historic areas will be totally destroyed.
See http://savewsvsasakigarden.blogspot.com/p/resources.html for more information about the NYU2031 Plan.

This photo graphically shows how high rise buildings disappear and destroy historic areas like Greenwich Village.

Wonderful lighting and color palette in this image. Hopefully something can be done about the destruction of historical structures. "V"
