The Fisher Building was designed by the famed architect Albert Kahn and was built in the 1920s along with the General Motors Building, located across the street. The Fisher Building houses the famous Fisher Theater. It was built by the Fisher brothers, founders of the Fisher Body Company, later part of General Motors. It is also home of WJR radio and that is where they get their famous tag line "From the Golden Tower of the Fisher Building".
