Hudson Ave.

Former site of Wollensak Optical that manufactured lenses and shutters in Rochester. At their height in 1958, they employed 1200 people. There were purchased by Anson Instrument in 1974 which also made lenses. Anson ceased operations in 2001. (taken from Wollensak.com. A company called Surplus Shed runs the website and sells old lenses made by the company.)

I too had never heard of them and I thought I applied to every place in the area for a job in the late 1980's. Nice.
