The handrails supplied with this Athearn RTR SD40 were too short from cab to stepwell, so I have replaced them with Smokey Valley stanchions and 0.012" brass wire. I have also added the first pass of weathering, which is a titanium white drybrush fade. This is one of the "Double Eagle" units, so the fade is a big part of the effect created when the new herald on a dark blue field covers the existing buzzsaw on the cab.
