Fourth Place - Old School

Original Here
If you look closely, some of the windows are broken on this building. It hasn't been used since 1969. I drove past there a few months ago and had my camera with me. I was going to try and sneak in there but they had just put boards up on all of the windows and doorways. I was very upset because I wanted to walk down those deserted hallways on the 2nd floor and get photos of the whole experience. Bummer!

I posted the original here:

In case anyone wanted to see what I started with. After seeing the Original again I realized just how much processing I did to it just to get it to this point. It was definitely a piece of work. I must have played with it for about 6 hours total over a 2 or 3 day period so I wouldn't burn myself out on it. :)

No, I didn't really add anything. The clouds were there. I think this is one of the first pictures I played around with in Machinery HDR. The software works well with single photos. The original photo looks nothing like this. In fact, it was considered (to me) a boring photo until I brought it into Machinery HDR. Then it just popped out at me. This is why I bought the software. Seeing results like this with a software package made me appreciate this photo more.

It's the A.L Miller High School in Macon, GA. Not a whole lot of info is available about this school. I guess there was a fire in it and they combined with two other schools after that.

Where is "old school?" Eerie indeed!! Shu

Some of these places require previous permission to enter.....you now are no longer at liberty to roam as we once did. Bummer, is right!! I recall driving down an old road leading to a deserted nuclear power plant and being stopped by security, car searched, license checked and them released almost an hour later! We old people learned our lesson!! BTW, your shot beckons all of us who have a morbid curiosity about these places! Shu
