There are several active burrows around Cape Coral. I went on a tour offered by a local volunteer who monitors the owls. I was there just before nesting season, so the owls weren't doing much other than keeping watch by the entrance to their burrow, and diving back in whenever there was a threat.
Thanks to the Cape Coral Friend of Wildlife for all their efforts in protecting these owls.
