Mardi Gras Indian

This costume is all handmade and designed by the wearer. It will never be worn again after 2013.
It was not the best day, weather wise. Rain off and on and fog. What a shame for the Rex Organization and the King of Carnival because their floats were the prettiest I've ever seen with the theme "All Creatures Great and Small". In the sunshine those floats would have sparkled.

Fab photo. I wonder how many ostriches contributed their feathers for such a colorful display. I suppose those feathers are not easy to keep fresh over the years, unless they are stored in a special area. Big vote for this timely photo!
