In the regions where Fastnacht/Fasching/Carnival is celebrated, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is called "Schmotziger Dunnschtig" (Schmotziger Dienstag) which is a straight translation from Mardi Gras (Greasy, fat Tuesday).
Traditional food for Shrove Tuesday are fried doughnuts rolled in sugar.
Julia (in the photo) and all others who love to wear costumes will put away her devil outfit tomorrow and return back to her studies at the University.
