This is not a real Ute, which are car based pickups (think El Caminio or Ranchero) common in Australia. Ford started building Utes in Australia beginning in 1934 and their popularity spread to other brands and continues to the present day. Although 1936 Ford Utes were built, this is not one. It is a 1936 roadster front end combined with back end of a real truck based pickup. No matter what it really is, it was one of my favorites at the event and something I would love to own.
