La résidence Lane, transformée en petit musée.
Il s'agit de l'un des bâtiments d'origine de Calico
où une femme remarquable a vécu.
Son nom était Lucy Bell King Lane. Elle est arrivée avec sa famille en 1884.
À l'âge de 18 ans, en 1892, elle épousa John Lane et ils possédaient une épicerie.
En 1899, ils quittèrent Calico en raison du déclin de la production d'argent et donc des profits.
Plus tard, en 1916, ils retournèrent à Calico
et vécurent dans ce bâtiment (ancien tribunal et bureau de poste).
John Lane décéda en 1934, mais Lucy resta dans cette maison jusqu'en 1965.
Elle décéda en 1967, à l'âge de 93 ans.
Une plaque commémorative (voir ci-dessous) a été posée devant la bâtiment le 7 mai 1989.
La maison est de nos jours un petit musée avec des photographies
et des informations détaillant l'histoire de Calico et de la résidence Lane.

The Lane house.
This is one of the original buildings of Calico
where a remarkable woman lived.
Her name was Lucy Bell King Lane, who arrived in Calico along with her family in 1884.
At the age of 18 in 1892, she married John Lane and they owned a grocery store.
In 1899 they left because of the decline of silver and profits.
Later, they returned in 1916 making the old Courthouse-Post Office their home.
John Lane died in 1934, but Lucy remained in the home untill 1965.
She died in 1967 (at the age of 93).
A plaque (see below) was installed in front of the structure (May 7, 1989).
The house is now a museum that has photos and informations detailing
the history of Calico and the Lane home.
