HELPLESS!!!

See my friend checking out my old ticker. Looks like we are having a good time

We are.....

He and I met when I took over my wifes childhood doctor's smalltown practice.

I just finished 11 years of schooling, which I started at the age of 38.I had been a car wash manager for 8 years, and then an oilfield electrician for 10 years. We hit it off right off the bat.

A few years ago,his wife,(also a good friend and one of my heros for the way she has taken care of her family) started noticing memory problems.

Fast forward to this picture where we are having fun laughing, and joking as his wife takes some pictures for me.
He has early onset Alzheimers.......He has no idea who I am.

Medical school does a poor job of preparing docs for the eventualities of being a doctor, especially a small town doc who is a friend first and a doctor second.

It is a HELPLESS feeling

And this is why you are an amazing doctor! You know that it's about more than fixing runny noses and giving check ups. It's about being the person we TRUST to do so - and being that person comes from love.

Dr Langly, we are all better off for having such a caring person for our doctor! Thanks for taking such good care of all of us!

Can't begin to tell you how much it means to us to know that you truly care.

Good friends can come from everywhere and the best are old friends, they have stood the test of time and perhaps there is something he remembers, way down deep. Thanks for sharing this personal moment Clark!
