As I recall, the back seating part was added in the mid 60's. Before then it was just walk up and order. Then take it down the street to Dairy Queen to sit a a table outside. A good thing when biking to West End for a swim.
I could be wrong but I do not think Tamiami Trail has been widened much at this location and that is hot much room there still is.

Today this restaurant is Las Palmas Restaurant with same building with windows and almost the same sign. Every time I drive by I wonder what it was like and what the prices were. According to my folks who lived in the area back then, meals were less than a buck and better than today's Burger King meals.
