We headed down to Naples with a stop in Fort Meyers to visit the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. This was a very interesting place to visit. We took the guided tour and spent quite a while just walking around. I hadn't realized that Edison used his winter retreat as a laboratory to study rubber plants. He had a nice laboratory there. The grounds were beautiful. The furnishings in the Edison home were the originals. The weather was sunny and warm. What more could we ask for. This "electrolier", as Edison called it, was in his house. I liked the looks of it and the neat filaments of the bulbs. Remember, I am easily amused. We traveled on to Naples in the afternoon and dragged the gut. There are a lot of wealthy people living there. Many of them don't have Florida license plates.
