One of the Dutch Starfighters being obsolete and parked at Ypenburg near The Hague was this dual D-5810, built by Lockheed. The last group of Volkel-based F-104's retired in late-1984. Turkey and Greece weren't an option for a second active life anymore, since better airframes with lesser flying hours became largely available by the German Luftwaffe in those years. The abandoned / reserve airbase Ypenburg (with a rich history: 1936 the Hindenburg flew over; 1940 mayor defeat for attacking German troops in an attempt to obtain the airfield in order to arrest the Royal Family / Parliament; 1945 first Open Day; 1961 first F-104 for Dutch service arriving) was ideal to house the almost 20 airframes for the years to come. D-5810 was a lucky one. It currently is in the US and may be restored to flying condition.
