Boise's local ski area, Bogus Basin, didn't open until January 20th during the 2011-2012 winter, due to lack of early-season snow. When the snow did come, it was glorious, and my camera was with me on my first ski outing. It is hard to believe that I shot this only 17 road miles from the northern edge of the city.
