We had an interesting day. We have been thinking about getting a nice HD flat screen TV to replace our ancient CRT devices. We both spent a lot of time reading about things on the internet and decided to venture out to Fry's (one of my favorite places to go) to assess the situation. Mind you, Ginny insisted we were just going to look. Well, we spent plenty of time looking. Finally, Ginny decided (without my assistance becausse I was still in the aforementioned "just looking" mode, as commanded) we had seen enough and that it was time to buy. So we walked out with a 60 inch Samsung, Bose speaker system and Blu Ray player. Thank heaven we just went to look. Anyway, our viewing distance to the screen is just 7 feet. When we set the thing up and played a video, it was just like watching stuff on the big screen. We ordered up HD satellite (to come next week) and also made a subsequent trip to Fry's to get a 47" TV for the bedroom. It is fun being in the 21st century.
John I had a big screen Samsung, absolutely loved it.
It started playing up, little things going wrong.
Well out of warranty so time to get a new one.
Bought the same model again, once again absolutely loved it.
Then had some slight problems. I have my computer plugged into the tv so I contacted my broadband supplier. Spoke to a very clever, very helpful young man.
He did lots of tests, said their broadband was ok. Did some more tests.
Asked me if I had any spare cables. Sure have boxes of them, I never throw a cable away.
He said change the cable between the Router and your computer. Which I did.
Solved every problem I had on the TV and the computer.
Damn, there was nothing wrong with the tv I replaced. I put it in the bedroom. Good job I never threw it away.
