Mountain Goat

Mendenhall Lake Penninsula

Thanks to Ron Gile for his tip about the mountain goats that are low near the Mendenhall Glacier I slugged out this morning and they were just above the lake. Had to back up because I had hauled my 500mm lens and I couldn't fit one in the frame. Backed out farther on the lake to get this shot. Also saw a pair of Gray-crowned Rosy Finches working in the same area as the goats.

It was raining and this poor goat showed how wet it was! Temperatures in the upper 30's to low 40's recently.

All in all a fantastic morning, thanks Ron! You can check out Ron's photos on his site at http://www.pbase.com/tazman0895

Super shot that came from a lot of hard work to bring it to us. Thanks

Great shot Doug. I went over to TEMSCO and got some nice clean shots of the swamp sparrow today. You really are killing me with this lens. Wish I could afford one. It really is an amazing piece of glass. Must have been a work out packing it over to this goat. ;)
