Punch

Whilst wandering round Hatherleigh Market today I came across this box of old Punch magazines. I would love to have bought a couple but having spent my last bean on a chest of drawers I hadn't even got the required 50p. I hope that they'll be there next week. The market was low on stallholders, I expect they're having a well earned rest after the busy Christmas period.
If you want to know where all my money went have a look here:

When I was a kid I was fascinated by the drawings in Punch. Great shot, very interesting.

After reading your blog, I understand why you didn't have the coinage to purchase the magazine! Seems as though you got a great deal on the chest of drawers too! :)
Beautiful image!

Gah, the network ate my comment. I like the hand picking up the magazine; it's more visually interesting than just the magazines lying there by themselves and speaks to the kind of stall that you describe. You'd get bonus contortionist points had it been your own hand but the absence of both rings and a chiropractor's bill suggests that it's not.
