Entangled

The love of Orchids has somehow grown on me over the years and now I have a small collection. It is a joy to watch the stem emerge where soon the blooms will appear. The first couple I bought, in flower, have never flowered again but I carefully feed and water them and live in hope. Others have flowered time and time again... it's a mystery to me but I do enjoy them.
I have heard them called "alien" "creepy" "prehistoric" I'll go for the fact that they may be an acquired taste.

Wow. I take dfsphoto's point but no, I think you have this exactly right. It's all about the colours, the shapes, the patterns. And the translucency of those petals against that amazingly dark background. This one isn't about detail as much as feel; it's an artistic shot, not a documentary one. Though I rarely say when I vote, I will here to emphasise the point.

Love the lighting but depth of field is so small would recommend you stop down to say f22 and use tripod then the whole main flower image will be in better focus

I dearly love orchids but have never taken proper care of them so that they rebloom....
Beautiful capture of this unusual one! :)
