LBN 438

LBN 438 is a red emission nebula in constelation Lacerta (near Andromeda)
It is a very dim object - much dimmer then the 16 Mag galaxy near it.

This is the first image with a CURVED SPIDER for my POWERNEWT - thus eliminating the star spikes.
Many stars in this image are Mag 6 - therefore producing very large spikes in "NORMAL" Spidered Newtonians.

Imaged with Boren-Simon 10" F/2.8 POWERNEWT Astrograph.
SBIG ST8300M camera with FW5 filterwheel and BAADER LRGB filters.

L = 100 minutes
RGB = 6 minutes each (BIN 2x2)
Total of 118 minutes.

Imaged from the NEGEV desert in ISRAEL
