For those who have not traveled thru the Rockies,
there are many such passes where the rock was
simply blasted away with dyname to make way for
the highway (and railroad). Sadly this wasn't always
done in the safest of ways, and lives were lost,
especially in the construction of the railroad.
Note the Runaway Lane--these are for trucks that have
lost their brakes and are a common sight as you travel
thru the mountains.
