The Milky Way in the border of constellations Ara and Norma.
The dark regions are formed by dust clouds that obscure the Milky Way stars.
Equipment used: Takahashi refractor FS-60CB f/4.3 (focal length 255mm),
Orion Atlas EQ-G equatorial mount, Atik 383L+ CCD camera (at -10C temperature).
Total exposure: 20 minutes (20 X 60 seconds).
Field: approximately 3 x 4 degrees.
This is only my second successful attempt with the current equipment.
A GSO IR-block filter was used - please notice that the stars are now much smaller and well defined!
This Image was obtained from my apartment window, under severe light pollution and near full moon.
No fancy image processing - only darks/flats calibration and light pollution gradient removal (Iris software).

A Via-Láctea nas constelações de Ara e Norma.
As regiões escuras são formadas por poeira que obscurece as estrelas.
Equipamento usado: refrator Takahashi FS-60CB f/4.3 (distância focal 255mm),
montagem equatorial Orion Atlas EQ-G , camera CCD Atik 383L+ (temperatura de -10C).
Total da exposição: 20 minutos (20 X 60 segundos).
Campo: aproximadamente 3 x 4 graus.
Esta é a segunda foto com o atual equipamento.
Foi usado um filtro GSO IR-block - note como as estrelas ficaram menores e mais bem definidas! Esta imagem foi obtida pela janela de meu apartamento, sob severa poluição luminosa e com lua quase cheia.
Não foi utilizado nenhum processamento de imagem sofisticado, exceto a calibração usual por darks e flats, e remoção de gradiente de poluição luminosa (software Iris).
