Ronald Reagan

Freedom Square ~ Budapest

On June 29, 2011, this 7-foot tall bronze statue was unveiled honoring Ronald Reagan for his role in helping to end communism.
It was sculpted by Hungarian artist, Istvan Mate.
The statue faces the U.S. embassy with the Hungarian Parliament building visible in the background.

I remember when he was voted in I thought it was a scary prospect. But it turned out that both Reagan and Gorbachev had the will to make progress - it is just as well they had the 'connection' to make things possible.
