One of the first people, I think (if the absence of footprints was anything to go by...),
to venture over to the far side of the river -- land which had previously been several feet deep in water.
It was very muddy; and tough going; and quite humbling to witness the havoc wreaked....

Have I said, yet, how much I love Stannals Bridge...?!
