BIOGRAPHY

Mrs. Martha Jane “Gigi” Klitch, 84, of Acworth, GA died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at her home with family and close friends by her side following an extended illness.

Jane was born February 4, 1928 to the late Bennett Arthur Hurt and Mable Francis Austin in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. A graduate of Miami Senior High School and Miami Dade Junior College she grew up in the Miami area. She met her husband Robert J. Klitch in 1951. They were married for 36 years. Jane was an active member of Iham Women’s Club, Moose Lodge, Coral Gables Country Club and an Elket. Jane worked for Dade County Florida for many years, retiring in 1992 from the Dade County Aviation Department at Miami International, her “Beloved Airport”, where she served as an Account Clerk. Jane was a member of CITY ON A HILL United Methodist Church, in Woodstock, GA after being a member of Coral Gables United Methodist Church for 40 years.

Jane and husband Bob raised their daughter Cindy in Coral Gables, FL. In 1992, Jane moved to Acworth, GA to be near her daughter and daughter’s family, becoming her next door neighbor. In 2001 Cindy, husband Dan and Jane combined households. Those in Georgia knew Jane as Gigi, the name given her by her granddaughter. Gigi never met a stranger and everyone she touched carries fond memories of her as a caring, loving and truly gracious lady.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by husband Robert, sister; Peggy Clark and her beloved cat Precious.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Cynthia Allred Evans and Daniel Wesley Evans of Acworth, granddaughter; Courtney Jane Allred of Acworth, brother and sister-in-law; Ben and Lois Hurt of Murfreesboro, TN, other relatives and loving friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Rev. Edward H. Archer, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends also on Saturday from 11:00 am to service time.
