We visited Luray Caverns in Virginia today. It was a lot of fun. We were the only two people on the 9am tour, which is one of the reasons I like traveling in the off season. The caverns were really very nice. This photo is of a place where there is a pool of still water. The things that look like stalagmites on the bottom are really reflections of the stalactites on the top. To the eye it is really a staggering sight and illusion. We also toured the Car and Carriage Caravan Museum which was also very good. All the cars and carriages are restored and are in tip top shape. The staff told us that all the engines run and they do take some out to various activities. I wish I knew more about cars so I could appreciate it even more. About noon we headed out to get to Hickory, NC in the early evening to see and old friend. That is the second photo from today.
