The apse mosaic from unknown mosaicists, is in a fine condition, and depicts Christ with the traditional blessing gesture,
flanked by Mary and St. Minias. The lower part of the mosaic shows the symbols for St. Mark (winged lion) and St. John (eagle).

The mosaic can be lit (as in this picture) by putting 2 Euros in a coin box off to the side. This is method
of lighting works of art in Italian churches is quite common, so visitors are wise to have a few Euros handy.
