We almost always stay at the Hermitage Hotel in Florence, a small boutique hotel just off the Ponte Vecchio
and near the Uffizi.
It is one of the best run hotels I've ever stayed in, with each room different, most furnished with some antique pieces,
and the most friendly and helpful personnel I've ever encountered.

On nice days, one can have breakfast on a balcony overlooking the Arno and adjoining Ponte Vecchio.
