Hurricane Sandy blew over the ole Maple tree and flipped the bus stop over.
Winds were up to 80 MPH during Monday night.
Sandy was supposed to happen Monday night but the storm was slow coming and slammed the East Coast, such at NJ and NYC and up coast more.
I think I slept about 3 hours that night, hearing the winds whipping by was so scary and when I finally went to sleep, I did not know if morning would come.
Our power went out at 9:30PM Monday night and was restored Wednesday night about 7:30PM.
We borrowed a friends portable generator that allowed the fridge to go.
In the meantime, hubby bought a bigger generator so next time, we will be prepared to keep the freezer and water pump going.
We were fortunate that it wasn't too cold, 45*F was the outside temps and it felt that way inside too.
School has been out all week due to power shortages and still when I went to work, some of my friends did not have power, locally, Sellersville, Heacock area, etc...
I do not have phone, internet and cable. I think the kids miss the internet and cable the most.
I am able to access email and internet with my cell but it is spotty at times. There is no indication when this will come back.
*** update - 6:30 pm, 11-3-2012...
Comcast phone, internet and cable came back on.
Though Mark's cousin is still waiting for power at their farm ***
Our Maple tree and bus stop blew over.
The maple tree should have been cut down before but it still showed signs of life.
Hubby cutting down the tree off the front driveway
The high winds loosened up the tin roof of the barn (and has been temp repaired for now)
Winds blew part of our house roof shingles off to the bare tar paper (and has been repaired yesterday)
