Along the way to Salat, we visit the village of Albi.
Albi was first settled around 3000 BC but didn't experience major growth
until the 11th century. Wealth from trade came quickly but the 13th century
witnessed a crusade by the Pope to eradicate the Cathars, a religious group
having a different vision of Christianity. Once complete, this Cathedral
was constructed beginning in 1282 to maintain control by the Church.
