The Slocan Valley Rail Trail was converted from an old railway corridor into an all-season trail for non-motorized recreational use. The 45km (27 mile) trail in the Slocan River valley is mostly flat and consists of five sections of various lengths. The trail passes through forests, farms, small communities and scenic open landscapes.
