Oak gall

Oak trees are decorated with a variety of galls, such as this one, most being made by tiny wasps in the Cynipidae family.

Oak galls are fun and great projectiles to throw at your buddies in the field. A local gall looks very much like a small brightly colored fruit. They are borne on either water or willow oak. Still I wonder what they taste like.
