The male Anna's Hummingbird on the right is the "owner" of the
nectar feeder on the patio. Today he let the female fly in
and chased her around the patio without the usual "get-out!"
chirps, just silence. They spiraled and dodged each other until
the female finally landed to rest and, surprisingly, the male took up
the same twig. I think they're getting to know each other. But, it's
not actually their normal mating season.
Both of them appear to be displaying their chin feathers (gorgets).
