My sweet sister, Sharon, broke her leg (both bones completely), right above her ankle a couple of weeks ago. They have kept it together with this contraption which is held by screwing it into the bone above her ankle and below the knee. They put this on during the first surgery. After the second surgery, this is gone. Internal pins and plates replace the exterior hardware. She's kept a very positive attitude about it and I'm just thankful it wasn't worse. But, she'll be off her feet for a while. I'll keep praying for a speedy and full recovery.
