This was our last day volunteering at Fort Clatsop this year. I was fortunate to draw the flintlock demonstration assignment, my favorite. It has been a good year. Ginny sewed four more uniform coats. I got to do the flintlock demonstration a bunch of times and also developed a map making demonstration which was a big hit with the visitors. Looking back on the last five years, I would have to say we had a very fulfilling time at Fort Clatsop. I learned a lot from my fellow rangers and we enjoyed the friendship of many like minded people which made it a lot of fun. Adding up the effort, we have spent 14 months total volunteering with the National Park Service at Fort Clatsop. That was quite a bit of time and effort. it was well spent, for sure.
