The reservoir, plant and Saucelle Dam (also known as jump Saucelle ) is a built hydroelectric engineering project in the middle reaches of the river Douro . It is located 8 km from the town of Saucelle , in the province of Salamanca
The section in which is located is known as the Arribes del Duero, a deep depression geographically establishing the border between Spain and Portugal .
Beside the dam is located the town of Salto de Saucelle , raised in their day to house the families of the workers who built the dam
