Anchor at Bristol copy.jpg

Lots going on in this HDR shot.
I have already taken away some of the saturation it was far too rich.
I have cropped some off the scene , I feel there are still some errors.
How do you feel about cropping some more out and what areas ?
The shot had a maximum of 6 meg pix as its only a D70 Nikon I use.

0.00s full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

My view is that you didn't take enough exposures. Since part of the sky is burned out, you needed more underexposed images in the field. But much of the final HDR image is also underexposed with little or no detail, like the tree, indicating that you also needed more overexposed images in the field. With more exposures you would have had properly exposed highlights and shadows in the final image. I think the subject matter holds the viewer's interest, and the composition is excellent.

I lime it how it is, well composed with the impressive sky.

Excellent compo and light - you could lose some of the right hand side if you wanted perhaps

Add some clarity for some more pop of light. Other than that, I do like it a lot!

Having studid it, if it was mine I wouldn't crop anything.

I like the composition and the crop is fine, although the lamppost on the left does compete with the anchor for attention. For me, the image seems a bit flat, by that I mean, it is lacking contrast in the mid range tones. This is most apparent in the foreground. By boosting the contrast a tad it should add the desired punch that the image needs. Just my preference...it may not be yours!!

It is an interesting, well balanced scene as it is. I wouldn't crop any more. Vote!
