Gary, They are called houseboats irrespective of if they are in the water or above the waterline.
There used to be a lot of these all along this waterfront.
Most have gone, actually fell apart with old age.
When they have all gone there will no be no more.
John, if a boat is on the water, it is called a houseboat. But, if the boat is on land, is it called boathouse? It looks pretty grundy, doesn't it. It is neat, how you got other boats sitting where the water line would be at high tide. Great image.
