Catedral de Astorga

Astorga Cathedral houses a fantastic tool for outdoor realization: a beautiful box Baroque in its decor, with a profusion of gilded carvings, with plants, but classic in its design, with Corinthian columns and a frieze of beautiful high relief moldings on which, like a crown, stands a baroque pediment kind of musical angels and medallions acanthus branches with apocalyptic allegories. Body tolls Santa Cecilia in the niche you are on central castle, and King David plucks the harp in the center of the pediment, while a choir of angels with bells guitars, aulos, tibiae and trumpets, complete the group with the celestial symphony Coat both sides of the Chapter of the Cathedral, and above all, reaching the clerestory of the church, the Catholic Kings Shield and Crown Royal, escorted by two angels heralds. A beautiful tin pipe looks over the openings of the frameworks, in different configurations:
- Central Mitra combined with two converging wings.
- Cubes round and flat wings alternate on two different levels, all embraced by the two great towers of three tubes each, formed by converging wings larger organ pipes.
- A large artillery available trumpets at the base. set above the pedestal.
We know nothing of the author of this splendid setting, and also ignore the name of the sound set builder, which originally housed therein.
