Sentry Oak

West End

This is one of about 10 live oaks that survived Hurricane Katrina's winds and waves along Lake Pontchartrain. All of the restaurants were washed away into the sea. Now, it is gearing up for another storm that forecasters seem to project coming our way. It will survive.

I hope it does survive long after I am gone. Seems you might get a touch of Isaac's wrath - hopefully not a lot.

You're right. It will survive. And let us hope that they are wrong and the storm falls apart. I know you're watching very carefully right now. this is a beautiful image.

Gorgeous evening shot, Coleen. Hopefully Isaac won't be fierce.

Lovely view. Let's hope this tree lives up to its reputation of the mighty oak.

Hopefully there won't be a bad storm. This is so pretty, especially the silhouette piers and the light on the water.
