It's one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Arribes del Duero, already in its central part, there where the granitic rocks or Cachones dropped on vertical 500 meters above the Duero River. It is located within the path of the Duero GR-14, very close to the Aldeadávila dam, and in front of the picturesque Portuguese village of Bruco which sits between the vineyards
This story is an ancient tradition of the 18th century or the first decade of the 19th, and speaks of a shepherd in Aldeadávila de la Ribera, Philip, who went to the spot with his goats. He was in love with a girl from the Portuguese town of Bruco, who could not see, because in the middle was the vast emptiness of the Duero River, desperate in his longing of the Portuguese, it was with the hands, with small tools, which could carry out a bridge or a link that would allow him to cross the river and meet with his beloved. We can say it is a precursor of the union of the two Iberian peoples, and the subsequent Aldeadávila dam, located less than 500 meters downstream, and that it would build two centuries later.
