There are 800 steps leading from Capri to Anacapri, the only way to travel from one town to another until a precarious road was built eary in the 20th century. The top of the steps is just below the Villa San Michele, built by Swedish doctor, Axel Munthe. The stairway was made probably by ancient Greek colonists.
