Griete(Holland)

Small boats waiting for rising tide.
Very high dikes(since 1953) protect polders. One can hike and bike on the dike,or take a sunbath, even barbecue.
Approximatively at this spot Napoleon intended to build a naval harbour.

A lot of work went into that dyke system! The tide sure seems extreme here, much like it is in Maine in the U.S. (Northern tip of the U.S. East coast)

Excellent clarity and colour. Rye harbour close to us looks very similar.

The harbor isn't much good if you want to leave at low tide!

That tide certainly is low! Good clear shot in good light Ed. An interesting scene!

Nice one Ed, they look so well behaved, waiting patiently. Nice lot grass to be kept tidy!

Interesting and clear shot of those impressive dikes. We need good dikes like that in our flood-prone town.

We have small-boat harbors like this near us. Gotta keep track of those tide tables. ;-)
