The drive through Banff was a bit disappointing as there were fewer lookouts where we cstop and take pictures, and that there were fences all along the highway. Had we seen any wildlife we wouldn't have been able to stop anyway as the highway was quite busy.

What I thought was brilliant, however, were these wildlife bridges over the highway to enable large mammals to cross the highway without being hit by cars. A number of underpasses and culverts have also been built beneath the highway.
