American Pika (Ochotona princeps) gathering food

Jasper National Park

One of the mammals I wanted to see in Jasper was the pika, a lagomorph that looks like a mouse and is sometimes called a "rock rabbit". We found one right at our feet as we rounded a bend on the trail, gathering food.
